How long does a gel liner last?
The gel compound does not dry out, crack, or degrade under normal road and temperature conditions. Unlike liquid sealant - which requires periodic reapplication - a gel liner is a one-time installation.
The gel compound is a stable polymer that stays active without maintenance. It does not separate, pool, or harden over time the way liquid tyre sealants do. Once installed, it requires no inspection, no topping up, and no re-treatment. Contrast this with liquid sealant products like Slime, which typically specify a refresh interval of 6 to 12 months and degrade faster in high-heat climates like Metro Cebu.
For practical planning: the liner is designed to last for the life of the tyre it is installed in. When the tyre tread wears to its replacement threshold, the liner pads are removed during the tyre change and can be transferred to the new tyres.
Does it survive a tire change?
Yes. The pads are removable and can be transferred to a new tyre set when your current tyres are replaced. One set of pads can serve across multiple tyre replacement cycles.
During a tyre replacement, our technician removes the pads cleanly from the old tyres and reseats them in the new set. The gel compound retains its sealing properties through this process. This is a material difference from both liquid sealant (which is lost with the old tyre and must be repurchased) and a puncture-resistant tyre (where the protection is integral to the tyre structure and discarded with it).
The practical value implication: the pad cost is a capital expense that spans multiple tyre replacement cycles, not a per-tyre consumable. Most passenger car owners replace tyres every three to five years. Over a ten-year vehicle ownership period, the liner pads may be transferred twice before needing replacement themselves.
What does that work out to per month?
A car set at ₱9,000 covering three to five years of tyre life works out to roughly ₱150 to ₱250 per month - less than a weekly car wash, with no recurring top-ups.
₱9,000

₱150-250
Per month of full protection
Compare that with liquid sealant: ₱300 to ₱800 per bottle, reapplied every 6 to 12 months - a recurring cost that compounds over the same period. See the full rate schedule on the tire liner pricing page.
When should it be replaced?
Replace the liner pads when the foam layer becomes compressed or the gel compound shows visible hardening or separation. In practice this is rare within normal tyre service life.
Signs that a liner pad has reached its service life: the foam backing has lost significant thickness and no longer sits flush against the tread interior, the gel compound feels dry or crumbly rather than slightly sticky, or the pad has been involved in multiple sealed punctures and the technician assesses that the sealing capacity is reduced.
Our technicians inspect the pads during any tyre removal service and advise on condition. For most drivers, the pads will outlast the first tyre set comfortably and transfer in good condition to the replacement set.
