Gel liner vs liquid sealant - what is the difference?

Both self-seal using the same principle. Liquid sealant dries out and must be reapplied periodically, and can unbalance tires or clog TPMS sensors. A gel liner is permanent and cleaner.

It is important to be clear: liquid sealant (brands like Slime, ASLONG, and local equivalents) and the gel liner use the same core mechanism - a fluid or gel compound flows into a puncture and seals it. Liquid sealant is not "fake" or ineffective. The distinction is in durability and maintenance.

Liquid sealant is a true fluid. It can pool at the bottom of the tire when the vehicle is parked, creating a temporary imbalance on the next drive.
